After an exciting Day 10, the next day in Bhuj started on a sumptuous note.
Trip Stop For Dabeli!
We came across Dabeli, a favourite Gujarati snack, at a tiny shop called Krishna at the Bus Stand in Bhuj. The owner prepared it fresh in front of us in a matter of seconds. He proudly told us that he makes about 400 dabelis every hour. A soft burger bun is stuffed with chilli potato, dried coconut, tutty-fruity jellies and garnished with rose petals. We loved it so much that we went back for seconds.
Crafts Come Together At Bhujodi
A short drive from Bhuj, Bhujodi has gained prominence on the tourist map courtesy the Hiralaxmi Memorial Craft Park. This noble initiative lets local weavers set up shop in turns so that everyone makes an earning.
An Ode To God
The new Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a masterpiece chiseled in solid marble. This one near Hamirsar Lake was created after the old one was gravely damaged during the earthquake in 2001. The remarkable architecture here reminded us of the Dilwara Temples of Mount Abu.
